I'm headed to Germany next week (Dec 1-9). Wondering if anyone knows any Traditional Hot Rodders in the Frankfurt or Stuttgart areas. I thought it might be cool to hang out and make new hot rod friends while over there. Mark (a.k.a. Tribalmonkey) (a.k.a. Long's Speed Shop)
...Good to see you pop on here, Mark. Can't help with the Germany thing other than to give you a bump.......Don.
Essen Motor Show, In Essen, Germany. Started today , ends 8 December. I have,nt been for a while but it,s big.
I don't know much about the south, the Essen Motor Show is more about tuning newer vehicles, years ago they had a hotrod show. Here in my area there are the Lifters, a hotrod club and Klaus Lehmann, who builds a lot of hotrods here. Try here directly, they are veterans and can definitely help. https://forum.gsra.de/ Greetings Harald

One tip I have is if on the Autobahn stay out of the left lane. They are serious about cruising at W.O.T.
Thats true. In germany you should always use the right lane, left lane is to drive fast and to pass other cars. Often people drive 150+mph on left lanes...
I visited Germany quite a few years ago. I got a ticket on the Autobahn for not driving in the right lane on the way from the Airport. A couple of days later I was cruising the Autobahn in the left lane at about 120 MPH. All of a sudden there were flashing headlights behind me. I pulled over into the right lane and a Mercedes and a BMW went flying by me in the left lane. I don't know how fast they were going, but it was a lot faster then I was going.
We've got a mirror image of the same disease here. The way to see it is that the nearside lane is the actual road. The offside lane is a duplication of the wrong side of the road rendered safe by the removal of the oncoming traffic.
