Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rusty1, Oct 21, 2006.

  1. ...What all is involved in replacing one of these?...I heard you drop the trans pan and remove a clip that holds that end of the cable,...anything else I should know? Thanks

  2. sounds about right to me.

been a while since ive done one but i seem to think you dont need to drop the pan. me thinks you can just pull it up and unhook it.

  4. you don't need to remove the pan . just remove the little screw holding it to the tranny , lift it up a bit and you will see a small hook going into the inner cable eye

That's fine as long as the inside doesn't unhook then you have to drop the pan

You don't have to drop the pan, but make sure the part that attaches to the carb. is disconnected so the cable will slide far enough out of the housing to unhook it.
