I would like to un street rod this car a bit. It has bright aluminum TT on it now. I tried to p-shop the wheels I would like to have on the car (very poorly I might add) but I don't care for the black wheels on a yellow car. Looks cheesy to me. Can someone make the wheels gray or another color to compliment the car in a hot rod style? Thank you.

Here is how the car looks currently.

I'm still thinking about a chop. I'm thinking 2" to 3" but leaving the back window full size and dropping it down. Can someone please show me what this would look like. IMG_1701.jpg

The back window would look more right by having the bottom edge the same distance from the molding as the moldings on the doors (I think).

I'm still debating this, the molding slopes up to the trunk so the bottom of the back window is higher than the side windows. I admit part of this is to avoid cutting the back glass and the inside window frame.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is to not chop the top if you aren't willing to do a little more work to make it look right!

Here's how it would look...I must agree it would be worth the extra effort.

    Hello,

Playing around with photoshop can be fun. But, sometimes, a real photo is better if one has the almost exact request on hand. My wife and I were out running errands and came upon this lowered custom purple 51 Buick sitting by the side of the road. It was so low, that we both wondered how it got where it was parked. About a half a block one way was a steep culvert across the road. The other direction also had a deep drainage culvert running across the road.
upload_2024-12-5_1-37-7.png Original photoshop paint by our resident expert, @themoose (thanks…) gave me what was the first sighting of my brother’s 51 Oldsmobile sedan. Lowered to the extremes at the time only lasted two trips to the local drive-in angled parking lot entrance and exit. Once it scraped, that was it. new springs and shocks were purchased and now the ride and handling was so much better.

But, how did the purple 51 Buick get to the spot between the deep road ruts that would have made him/her go over it sideways to not scrape? My wife could not get over the fact that the side lakes pipes were so low that a pack of cigarettes could not fit under the pipes. With the community background color, the purple Buick stood out quite well.

Then a few months later, it was spotted in a different format and appearance.

A before and after photo…still with lowered stance and Lakes Side Pipes. For a daily driver, extra caution works... Good on you!
