I bought one Okie Adams cromed axle 2003 in Bakersfield March Meet. That axle I sold to Finland and now I found Okie axle for me too. Here picture of that 2003 bought axle. My axle is coming to my rod shop next Monday. Christmas time! Aulis
My Okie axle arrived from Sweden. 100% condition both sides and looks like very straight. Both ends are same caster, so need to finish axle and bolt on to my cabriolet. Thanks Jan-Olav! Aulis
I was studying one I have last night and asking questions on it. Measures out as stock but with the drop. Very well done with no notable seams or indications of patches on the ends. Have not totally stripped it to look for markings. Was told im.the 3rd owner as I bought.it from the son of the man that purchased it back in the late 50s or early 60s. Was on a 36 Cabrolet show car on the East Coast and may have come from the West Coast.
While searching for info on this old axle I have laying around I came across this thread, so I thought I would ask here. I don't think this is an Okie axle, it has a 6 inch drop and appears crud to me, but here in Alaska we don't have much to look at! It is 38 1/2 perch to perch and 48 1/2 kingpin to kingpin. Anyone know what it is, or who might have made it?
That’s wild! Being in Alaska are you sure you aren’t supposed to run it upside down for winter ground clearance haha ?
Thanks for the info. That axle is 30 to 40 years old that we know. It was bought back then and installed in a 36 Ford. Got it all in but could only go straight! Tires were to far up in the fender to be able to turn. So pulled back out and we ended up with it.
This one came on my ‘28 on ‘32 rails roadster originally built in SoCal long ago. I’ve been told it is an Okie Adams but I didn’t find anything stamped on it. It doesn’t have the consistency in the bends to be a stretched and filled axle, it looks welded together. And the radius of the corners in the drop area are more squared off than the main beam but who knows at this point. It’s chrome now so it’s harder to see.
