Nope, I don't even like beer. My name is J.R. and after my gearhead neighbor passed away his kids came in and were getting rid of all his stuff so I snagged the can and a few other things that we always laughed about while hanging out in his garage.

Early Irons out of Kitsap County (Bremerton) Washington. Club is now retired but there are still alot of old members around. They hosted some great shows and I was lucky enough to be able to work on some of their cars during the short time I worked for Daves Rod & Custom.

Short lived Seattle chapter. We shut it down because we didn't want to be associated with the childish BS in other chapters.

    My Dad and Uncles club
They were from Bodega, Bodega bay , Valley Ford, Tomalas bay HS area on the CA coast . I think around 1957.

My Uncle had this unpainted spare and gave it to me. His he had on a car and my dads were painted dark blue. I may stick it on my Model A .
Not going to drill holes in it. 20241102_195206.jpg

20241125_100730.jpg 20241124_090657.jpg The Rod Benders plaque is mine. The Quarter Milers plaque was my late brother's from the 1950's.

IMG_5075.jpeg I do believe that the car on this plaque is taken from this T-shirt. The car on the shirt is my car that I have had for 42 years. It was put on the shirt when I worked at SAC in the late 1980’s. Back then the car was black primer with burgundy steel wheels. People used to ask what color I was going to paint it and I would say purple to get a laugh or to be a smart ass.
Thom Taylor thought I was serious and when he drew up the artwork, he finished the car in purple. I liked it so much, I did paint the car purple……

  13. Oh wow, I'd never seen that artwork before. This is the car club I belong to. Our founder just recently passed away and he had built a black 48 coupe..I always thought that it was his car on the plaque.

That’s really cool. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I’d love to get a copy of that plaque for my collection as well as to keep with the history of my car

  16. I'll see what I can do, I'm working on getting another myself. Is there anywhere out there that may have one of those shirts for sale??

Awesome, I’d be willing to buy the plaque if it’s reasonable.
I have a couple of the shirts but I’m hanging on to them.
There has been talk of making some new ones but so far it’s just been talk. If we do, I’ll definitely let you know

Picked this one up at the LARS about 13 years ago. Anyone know any history of the Continentals of Redlands Car Club? [IMG]

  20. Thanks! Your photo is the only one I've found for the Wheelers Plaque. After doing some research the only thing I've found regarding the Wheelers was on a list of car clubs running at the dry lakes and also the list shows the Wheelers helped with the running of the event, keeping the racers in line, trash pickup etc. The lists were made in late 40s and early 50s.

Fuzzy Anderson had a bunch of photo albums that I wish I had copied. His roadster had this SCTA dash plaque from the original Model A he raced in 1941 ...

Has any ever heard of the High Lifters in Duncan Okla? Formed in 1951 and is still a club but not active. I am the oldest living original member. I have a original plaque.

Is the plaque you have different? If so, post a photo of your plaque here.

I'll ask again if anyone has a plaque for the PLUGS from Canyon, Texas?
My brother's club for around '56. Probably only a dozen members.
