I have not seen him for years, He was always fun to talk to and will be missed. https://www.rasmussenmortuary.com/obituaries/melvin-atkinson
Well, just nuts... Condolences to his family. He & Tex Smith were good friends, & helped each other out. From reading, I get that he was a very good machinist. 'Nuther good one(I never got to meet, just admire) gone. God's speed, Wayne. Marcus...
Sad to say, but we can't choose how many Great rides we take before that One. Blessings to the family, and his many friends.
One of the best people that I have met in the Banger World, and the founder of the Northwood Iowa Flat Hill Climb where many of us have discovered the fun of going fast in old Fords. Thanks Wayne!
Sad news. I first learned about Wayne in a article about modifying Ford banjos for late axles, and had him perform the machining on one of mine, along with purchasing his open drive conversion. He worked alone, but eagerly took the time to answer any questions. Soon after, his business became Hot Rod Works, that continued his commitment and expertise. RIP Wayne.
Sorry to read this. I met Wayne at Bonneville in the mid 70’s and continued our friendship for many years. JD….
Met him when he was living in Rexburg, Idaho years ago ... we talked GMC engines for half an hour, & he gave me a 302 block he'd run years before in a Nash bodied roadster. Said "it needs sleeves - 3/16'' bore & fuel don't mix". RIP, Wayne ...
Being from Utah, I knew Wayne for many years. Great guy that knew how to do just about everything, and would help anybody do anything. Mick
I met Wayne when I moved into his Dad’s motel in Provo back in 1960. We became good friends with our mutual interest in cars. Wayne helped me a lot through the years and he was my go-to guy for anything car related. He was a prince among men in every way. We will miss him terribly.
