Good Day Mate, Freds the name from Emerald in Queensland Australia, recently I purchased a 1939 Plymouth 4 door sedan thats been converted into a 5 window coupe ute. I 'm the 4th owner in 12 months probally because of the rusted floor,I am currently haveing the front subframe fitted its from a HT Holden, then after that I'm haveing the X section removed and a new flat X section with a tailshaft loop made and fitted as well as the new spring hangers. I'm working on fitting a new flat floor. The running gear will be a 253 Holden V8, M21 Holden 4 speed gearbox with a EB 28 spline Ford diff, HT Holden subframe using HQ Holden stubs with Leyland P76 disc brakes. Will be buying a camera soon that I can post pics in here. Chatch up soon Fred.
Wrong board. I'm glad you're not asking about your Alliance tag. I think that one would just about kill Ryan.
Good day back at you, my wife and I honeymooned in australia, beautiful country .They have alot of old cars and hot rod stuff its just called different names,we met a guy with an old wooden boat and it had a small block 327,he also had an mg with a small block chevy in it.We traveled all over and p***ed threw queensland and saw some old hot rods, steering wheel on the right ,chevy and ford are very popular over there.I think the holden is there version of are chevy. The body shops are called panel beaters, there hoods are called a bonnet. The language is just funny to here. Good luck on your projects ,Dave.
I always liked the Plymouth UTEs here is a real 39 and note the 39 Threewindow coupe behind it. The 3-window is still owned by the same guy but the UTE belong to someone else that is trying to sell it!
If you guys have ever been over there, you would appriciate Hot Roddin! They have nottin to work with, so they just make it. Its easy here 1-800 hotrod.....Not like it there. I was so impressed on a visit. Ridin in a 32 roadster, when he told me only was the cowl was steel. Had to make the rest myself! Rant etc.................OLDBEET
