How many of you guys know that a 1904 Darracq was the star in a 1950s British movie "Genevieve " together with a 1907 Spyker. Well both cars are still together. Movie was about the London to Brighton run for the antique br*** cars. It,s still a great movie to watch on a rainy day.

A mate has this 04 one, third owner and been in the same family from new. It doe's have the hood etc. JW
I've known and seen only one Darracq in my life outside a museum or expo. That would be an expensive build.
It's funny how as soon as I saw the picture I knew it was the box art from an MPC model. They must have used the same artist for all their models.
I'm partial to the Darracq featured in this; 1905 speed record car, 25.5L V8 200hp, did 175 kph (109.7 mph) in the flying kilometer, becoming the fastest vehicle on Earth.
Holy Smokes, that's how to go cruisin'. As a toddler I was permitted to wander the woods behind our house. I found our high cl*** wealthy neighbors carriage house with three examples of cars that defied my understanding of old cars. Dad was flipping cars at the time. Most often they were survivors of the war and the depression. The neighbors relics looked as though they had a garage man to care for them. Today I can say they were of the '05 to '10 era. Before grade school I happened upon a Sunday newspaper feature of speedsters from the teens. Naturally these were the rides I wanted. Then Dad introduced me to Model A Fords. We had access to around ten of 'Henry's Ladies' My yearning for a high wheeler was appeased.
