More from the archives of Andy Southard Jr. Lots of nice roadsters a custom Merc and even a little drag racing in this one. Anyone know who owned the black roadster with the red and white pinstriping on the louvered deck lid? Picture barrowed from @TheBrazilianKid
These new films just found me this afternoon. A wonderful treasure trove of 60's and early 70's Northern California. The Speed and Kustom YouTube channel has had quite a number of short films ( digitised cine stuff) added in the last month. Soundtracks are awesome too. Get comfortable for a few hours of total indulgence. Chris
I think it would be incredibly cool if there was another version with overlaid pointers showing the people's names and identifying the car owners. Presumably not overly difficult to do if you know how! The hard part is getting the captions correct, and having the time to do it. I believe I spotted a young Dennis Varni in one of the vids! Chris
Note the absence of big headlights, the many with hanging pedals with firewall mounted master cylinder, and use of tubular shocks on the front axle in these early 1960's "traditional" rods.
Guess my memory hasn’t failed yet. Here is a still from Andy’s book showing the Tut Brown roadster and a shot of Andy’s tub.
Thank you so much for getting the info! What a beautiful roadster, i searched more about it and oh boy.. i never thought that the full fendered roadster i liked so much in a video was a famous one.. i even started to build a 1/24 scale model of a '32 full fendered roadster and i found out Bill's car was an inspiration for a model kit, for a modeller like myself it was the "Wow" part.. haha
