WOW! That is a mind blower, some serious **** running there. Love the long forgotten cl***es, alterds, S/R. Comp coupe. This was drag racing that enjoyed all too short a time. Look at the crowds out watching their friends and families race. No John Forces here. Warren
In 1959 I was nine years old when we moved from Wichita Falls, Texas to Dallas. My Dad took me to Caddo Mills that summer and I got to see my first drag race. I was hooked!!!! Got to see Bobby Langley's Scorpion race and I never forgot it.
Eddie Hill raced there. Some sharp eyed observer might spot his car Caddo Mills - This is Eddie Hill with his Olds-powered dragster at the 1957 Texas State Championship. The “Four Father” told me he made that rear body section out of two 1940 Ford hoods. Not many moons p***ed after that until he rolled through the gates at Caddo with his twin Pontiac-engined car (before he went asphalt-plucking “dually” we first saw it with the normal two slicks on the rear!). Picture found on Facebook. Don't know if I'm in trouble for cut and paste.
