I bought an old paxton SN60 supercharger (not the cool SN93 from the Mustangs but instead that kind that was used like VS57's on T-birds and Kaisers). It is totally complete and even includes the original Paxton gauges. The downside is that the blower itself is frozen and I imagine the rotors shot. I've heard you can swap the SN93 internals into that housine but wanted to know if that was true or if anyone has done it?

Thanks guys. I had forgotten about Paradise wheels buying
"old" Paxton. I think they were going to make a singel or maybe even dual supercharger kit for the FE. I just sent them a note to find out about swapping guts. I'll let you know what I find out
I can't believe Levi's is asking me where I find all this stuff! YOU SIR, are the parts hound! Did ja ever get back to the firetruck boneyard?

Get in touch with Paxton themselves...they can answer your question.

Thanks. Paradise is Paxton now. Paxton themselves only makes new superchargers and sold their tooling and everything for the old ones to Paradise Wheels in California. I wrote em but probably won't hear back for a couple of days. Just found all this out today.

Just got the official response...on a sunday no less! These guys are good! Here it is...

RON , YES THE SN-60 IS THE SAME CASE DESIGN AND BOLT PATTERN. BUT THE PARTS WILL NOT FIT INSIDE. THE BEST THING TO DO IS TRADE IT IN FOR A REBUILT ONE OR I WILL SELL YOU A REBUILD KIT 450.00 OR TRADE IT IN ON A SN-93 FOR 700.00. YES A COMPANY WE WORK WITH MADE THE DUAL FE PAXTON SETUP. COBRA AUTOMOTIVE. 203 284 3863. WE JUST FINSHED A DUAL 289 -302 FORD PAXTON SET UP. MAKES 10-14 LBS. OF BOOST. CRAIG

You can use sn93 internals, but I think they aren't as good. Every change that paxton made on the original sn60 design was to make it cheaper, not better. I run a cut down vs57 on my wagon and its been on there for 3 years with no problems. A good friend of mine is making a kit for sn60s and vs57s that uses a larger diameter titanium nitride ball instead of the stock steel one and will more than likey double the output of a stock unit.
Anyhow...if the blower is locked down completely...it probably needs 2 new outter races, 1 new inner race, a new ball set, and maybe new oil pump bearings, there is no telling what it needs till its apart. But don't be afraid to take it apart, they are pretty simple.
    good luck

Paradise rebuilt the VS 57 I have on my Roadster.
And I am very happy with it.

Did your friend make progress on the larger diameter titamium drive balls?

I am not a HAMB historian but I do believe that reviving a 20 year old tread must be a record of some sort! I commend you sir.
