I loved the Nethercutt. For some reason when I visited a number of years ago the McGee roadster was on site and I got to stare at it quite a while.

I can see the whole show in one day. But I’m not looking at everything, and I don’t stop to talk to a lot of people. I will walk past a lot of stuff to spend more time looking at what’s good. Having seen a lot of the past AMBR cars before that will be present for the 75th anniversary, I won’t spend too much time on them but if you’ve never seen them…I bet that would take up a lot of your day! Might be better to plan on two days, at least one and a half if you can.

The NHRA museum is a must see and worth taking your time.

If I had to choose one day to see the show, I would pick Friday, and that’s when I’ll be there this time. Sunday is a close second. Saturday is better suited for driving around town.

Can't wait. Last time was the 75th anniversary of the deuce. First plane ride since then. Got a rental car, Scooter, Room and Thursday to tour some shops. Also my entry tickets for Friday and Saturday. At 80 it'll probably be my last? California has turned into something like a foreign country, do I need a passport?

You can see 90% in a day if you keep moving and are there all day. Thay said, I think 2-3 days is ideal. Especially if you want to really see all the details on the cars and stop at vendors

  14. We have reservations at the LA Quinta by Wyndham in Pomona. The ratings appear to be ok but I had someone tell me staying in Pomona can be sketchy. Can anyone verify that it is OK or should we look elsewhere? Thanks

  15. The LaQuinta on Temple is fine. There are places in Pomona you don’t want to go at night, but that area near the college is OK and 10 minutes from the Fairgrounds…

I hear the entry fee is $100?

  19. With an approved car yes $100 to park outside (I think you get two guest passes though), more to park inside I assume??? $40 a day for spectators from what I have been able to find.

My 32 5W will be in a vendor space in Building 5 (Slonaker building), so I will be there Thursday-Sunday. Looking forward to seeing many hot rod friends from around the globe.

  21. I hope to see you there, Neal.

I picked Sunday, as usual. A bargain for $70. Less crowds. Don't have to pay 2 admissions plus a parking fee -- probably less money and less walking a mile from the parking lot.
