Good to see you are still at it. I've owned mine since 1985 and I'm just now at a point were I can focus on it.

Great to see that you are back on this. Now on the cusp of driving something you built, that's a big deal man. Good luck and have fun!

It happened - I drove this today for the first time. The linkage came together with the help of some friends who were able fabricate a solution. It will need the bugs shaken out of it, but I was all teeth today driving this loud, ill mannered, and slow hot rod around my neighborhood. I am thrilled! IMG_8406.jpg

    Sweet! Congrats to you!
Love it that you kept so many of the Henry parts. That's rare nowadays.

Thanks dmar836! Mostly original parts. It was a struggle to stay true to my original idea of a late 30's to mid 40's hot rod, but here it is.

F100 steering box in a Model A? F-Yes! Randy Gross's kit made it EASY. My column slipped right onto the box and everything fit perfectly. No more wander or play, and it feels like it has power steering(almost). IMG_0921.jpeg IMG_0922.jpeg IMG_0958.jpeg IMG_0959.jpeg

2 new Stromberg 81's? Yes please. Purr's like a kitten at idle, and roars like a lion at WOT. Direct 1:1 linkage. Offenhauser fuel pressure regulator set to 2lbs.

Very cool but why do your Stromberg 81's have 97 on the side?

The new 81’s are the same carb as the 97 with a reducer for the venturi, a reducer for the accelerator pump, 36 hers, and a #71 power valve

Speedway only sells their Chinese made 9 Super 7 clone of a 97. I tried one and it was problematic and sent it back for a refund. Speedway was good about it with no hassles.
Summit Racing, Millworks, and a number of other vendors sell them.

Correct. Stromberg carburetors are now made in England.
