germ, please post the rest asap!great stuff.ever have anyone offer any money for anything?i know you said there priceless to you,but it would be interesting to see what someone would pay for say,the check,ya know?
the check is to hersel conway. I don't go showing it much or TRYING to SELL IT. but I had someone offer me some INSANE cash for a few of the CHECKS written to KENNETH HOWARD...... No interest in selling anything... I like GEORGE ALOT.... I would rather gather all my shit and SHOW it at the AUTORAMA... I have some tropheys that say BARRIS KUSTOMS from the early 50's ..... a business card from the LYNWOOD shop went for a few hundred and we have the LICENSE for a TAX business.... before I met george, I paid 600 bucks for a few ADD PROOFS from ROD and CUSTOM, for BARRIS ADS Some of the STUFF signed by SAM before he LEFT and came BACK north is priceless..... I like to research the LICENSE PLATE numbers from the BOOKS and then compare it to some of the paper work.... I would trade it all in, to see GEORGE live for another 50 years,,,
is hershel conway the painter jr conway? he worked for barris i believe. if it is he gets 50 large for a paint jobs now.
THATS GREAT GERM.......THANKS-LOVIN WHAT I'VE SEEN,CANT WAIT !Glad to hear you are keeping these treasures.

George is my hero! I met George at about the same age. He had a '49 carson top Merc at the local autorama. He let me past the rope and get my picture taken with the car. It was dark purple with a white top. Damn fine car. I bugged my Dad for months to get rid of his GTO and get a Merc. No luck...Every year he came back to town for the show, we would go and say hi to George. Last summer while at Rat Fink I met him again, he still remembers me, when and what show we first met at. A living part of hot rod history. WAY COOL collection of stuff, Germ.
Thats really kool Germ. If I were you I would put them in a lock box and insure them, how I dont know, but there are some real bungholes out there. I'm just curious as to how you got some of those things. Your one lucky man! I think George Barris is such a hero to myself and everyone here because for one he's a very nice guy, and two he literally invented most all of the kool cars we all grew up with, from the Batmobile to The Munster's Coach the Ala Kart! Heres a kool pic I found....
