Honestly from what I've seen messing with vintage model car stuff oddly sealed model car stuff doesn't sell well. Properly built model cars tend to sell for more and easier. I've been offered more for new builds I did on vintage kits (1964 and older) than I paid for the same kit unbuilt in box.
And yeah you can get a modern equivalent of those tire packs. Just not vintage ones. Hobbytown USA in KC sells them
Left quarter panel protector from a de Soto? Looks like a Conquistador Helmet, then again it may be a sailboat, and a Plymouth item.
Maybe an accessory bumper bar extension or dress-up molding. Attached to a straighter, shorter bumper it would give the appearance of adding a bumper guard and a wrap-around into the front fender or rear quarter panel. Something out of an old J.C. Whitney catalogue or the like.
I like that idea, it is as thick as a bumper. I only have the one side, so it is a wallhanger. Updated the photos and a 90 degree move does make bumper tips a more likely ID.
If those two glass rollers on the bottom light up at night it must look nice. Once fit a 1946-48 Ford.
Picked this up from a friend who's been buying and selling tools for decades, he had never seen one before. Now I can test my windshield wiper arm tension myself instead of having to go to the dealer:
Found in a bunch of Flathead to mid 1960's Ford parts. I'm guessing hood hinges, I have both sides. looks like a Lionel track connector but it isn't. Quarter window Regulator Tracks???
Friend of mine just picked up a new 32 5 window project and that really looks like the floorboard we mocked up for it. The floor pieces were all in the trunk when the car was delivered.
Thanks, this one is 34 1/4 at the bottom, I'll do an online search for photos, then list it here tomorrow. Merry Christmas! Bob '32 THREE WINDOW! on my first search!!! Listed, looking for a new HAMB home. Grandkids will be happy.
I forgot about this thread when I was cleaning out my shed this year. One trailer load was nothing but 18 gal tubs full of old tools, car parts and stuff that hadn't sold and I needed the space. Hated to toss out old 1930's NOS parts but to be honest at todays shipping costs even giving stuff away would end up being more than the junk is worth. Last week I recycled 40's through 60's parts manuals and owners manuals. Couldn't get $5.00 for a 1939 Ford or a 1955 Nash owners manuals in really good condition so out they went. Before anyone suggests the H.A.M.B classifieds I have listed numerous items over the years at prices less than what eBay or FB Marketplace gets and gotten feeble responses. I do not view the classifieds as a viable option for low value items. I still have bins and totes of junk that need to go. Maybe I should post them here as recent buys and wait for "will you sell that" messages. LOL.
aren't these 49 Ford parking light bezels? They do match that linked ebay listing but I don't think that seller has a clue what they're selling. Pretty sure the grille is a 55 or 56 Mercury piece, not sure if they're different between the 2 years.
I also went to an Advance Auto store closing today and got a bunch of exhaust stuff, pipe bends and adapters, manifold stud kits for $1, two chrome exhaust turndown tips for 54 cents each, and a couple pairs of Thrush mufflers, between 13 and 17 bucks each. These store closings are all over the place and there is a lot of shit that's legit 90% off, it's worth checking out.
A pair of stude air cleaners. Mocked up in the kitchen with the wife’s vintage Tupperware I kind like it on this Edmunds set up.
