Hey guys I’ve got my Muncie 4 speed that came out of a 60’s Pontiac and it’s going a ‘63 Impala that was a 3 speed Saginaw. Do I need to do or get anything for the speedometer cable?
    Thanks

No .. your '63 cable screws on as is ...
You may want to pull the driven gear out & check for wear or damage.

If the Muncie came out of a car with the same rear axle ratio / tire size then shouldn't need to change anything. If not, the speedo gears will not be correct. Depending on the difference you may only need to change the driven gear.

The speedo gear may even be the same. Mine were.

You might want to check the tooth count on both the drive and driven gears.

  6. Your cell phone has an app called Waze. It has a speedometer. Take the car for a ride, and compare the cars speedo to the phone. If its close your good. If not change the trans speedo gear.

Amazon had the driven gears very reasonable when I needed a change.

If you still have the Saginaw sitting there you can check the tooth of the driven gear and drive gear.
Then check the speedometer gears in the Muncie and A bit of calculating should let you figure out if the gears in the Muncie will be close enough or you need to make a change.

This thread on a Chevelle board has info on Muncie speedometer gears I didn't read it all but there is some info you can use there. https://www.chevelles.com/threads/getting-the-right-muncie-speedometer-gear.870753/

That came from this search https://www.google.com/search?q=mun...h5_DrqtsITM&vssid=_KkBlZ7C8PP-iur8PjabDiAw_37 and there are several charts and links.
