I currently have a Bendpak MD-6xp and don't care for it at all. For one it's too heavy to move around. Every time I am through with it I have to get out the track loader to move it out of the shop. Second the lift itself is in the way part of the time.
So I am thinking about the Maxjax. My concrete has lots of cracks so instead of drilling holes and putting the threaded inserts into the slab I am wondering if anyone has made any kind of outriggers for the two columns? I am only working on SXS's and they weigh from 2500-3500 lbs.
Maybe add a base similar to Bendpaks mobile column lift pcl-18b? Or take two pieces of heavy steel, lay them on the floor and bolt the two columns to that when needed?
    Thoughts? Thanks

I've had my maxjax for about 8 years. I brought it with me when I moved. I've was careful both times to follow the installation instructions. I would want serious engineering before I would deviate from them. The risks are very high.
