This was a very interesting video. Stan Betz was an artist to say the least! His work may not appeal to everyone, but he sure could mix the paint colors! I really enjoyed the video.

    It's the late Huell Howser.

He did 30-minute PBS documentaries on various subjects throughout California.

I saw the turquoise 'vette/'48 Ford/ woodie at the Oakland gnrs back in the early '90's. Camera video doesn't do its depth & brilliance justice.

    Thanks JD,Miller for the video...
Stan mixed paint for me for a few projects.... When you walked in to his shop, & he recognized you, ...he would say.."Hey, are you allright" ..... Too Funny...
Just a great guy, with a lot of history, talent,& stories......

The Austin Roaster has a 153” Chevy II 4 cylinder and is Stan’s personal car. When I was rebuilding our LSR Austin roadster I race I wanted to replicate the rear inner fender wells that were removed. Long time painter John Harvey knew Stan had one and we got permission to go to his home in Belmont Shores to measure and take photos of me laying under that car with 2 yards sticks to show the width of the panels. The set I made are still under it today.
