Not my picture but I saw this sideXside comparison online on a 67 Ranchero.

I was thinking about this some more driving from Roswell yesterday early morning, the deer signs and all...I might go ahead and order a pair of low beams for the Corvette.

I need some 'square-ones' to fit my 91 S-10 . The stock ones are really dim (OR maybe my 76 year old balls are just dim !?) Anyhow.....does anybody have a cure for my truck ?
    Thx

  5. Holley sells them in the 5x7 variety. My brother just bought them for his '91 Sonoma but hasn't installed them yet.

I bought a 78 Ford F250 several years ago, the square headlights were incredibly dim. I looked at them, and discovered that they both had the lens separated from the reflectors, and the shiny stuff was all gone. The bulbs still worked because they're halogen bulbs inside the sealed beam unit.

put in new normal halogen sealed beams, they worked just like new.

Sorry about caps , I just like using them ( everybody says I'm yelling idk) but yeah after buying & trying i was like WTF !? Now I only bout 1157 replacements , NOT the headlights . But the original bulbs are brighter than led . I starting checking where they were sold & looked at reviews ( which were mixed) but some complained on summit that they are NOT brighter & a waste of money . So I thought I'd share with everybody here incase they didn't read reviews first like I did . If your thinking about it , HAVE AT IT , it's your cash . I tried...... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I have had mixed results myself with 1157 LED replacements. I liken it to the shape of the LED array on the "bulb", for one.

I had them in one of my OT trucks and they were very dim.

I'm gonna check that out .THANKS ! See if holley has their led ls facing out sides where if I remember Ron Francis led bulbs face to the top ( which would be rear of car with bulbs installed) . Another guy mentioned on 54s using the unused reverse socket & wire in another set (4) brake light bulbs or reflective paint inside housing . ALL GOOD STUFF .Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR BROTHERS

  14. If you want LED replacement bulbs (other then headlights), check out super bright leds. You can get different temps (yellowish to white/blue), colors (I use red for tail lights) and different lumens in a lot of different bases.
