I always take my gloves and squeeze and twist the **** out of them, fingers too before putting my gloves on just in case there is a little fellow hiding in them.

Keep my face masks, new gloves etc in plastic bags to keep critters out of them...

As for keeping those masks and gloves safe
Probably a good use for all those empty coffee cans you can't seem to toss.

 

I have a problem with coffee cans, cant seem to toss em either. drained some oil in one today and thought dump it in the used oil container then wash it out with a little gas and save it, then realized how many of them I have laying all over with nothing in them, what the hell am I saving them for? Habit I think or maybe I just dont pay attention.

 

Tin cans? Remove the top & bottom. Cut the cylinder lengthwise & flatten them. They make great shingles. Whole towns were made of them in the mining days.

 

I don’t understand marking the gloves left and right so you don’t have to look at the thumbs. Don’t you still look at the L and R?

 

I paint a line on all my ladders at the balancing point. Then I always know where to pick it up when I have to carry it to what I am working on.

And if we're looking for time saving, just mark one glove ("L" would be easiest and quickest). By process of elimination, the other glove would most likely go on the right hand.

 

It's more important to look at the thumbs when you buy them new. I remember twice buying gloves at Harbor Freight and getting two for the same hand.

 

I always end up with two left hand gloves because I wear the right hand one out. Still works!

 

maybe learn to use your left hand as much as your right so they wear evenly, or turn you spare left glove over and use it on your right hand, it may be uncomfortable at first but with time you will get use to it. option 3 stop it your gonna end up blind.

 

Also check your beer cans for bees! Ask me how I know that!

I'm really sorry I brought this up. It's such a minor deal that I shouldn't have.

Remember I said I always lay gloves down palm down and also that I mark the backside. If you're actually seeing the gloves well enough to pick them up you've already seen the L or R. Before even touching them.

 

I bought a pair of hip boots for my granddad at a yard sale on my way up to Lake Alpine where he was fishing. Turned out to be both left feet. We had a good laugh. He gave them back. I gave them to a friend who only had a left foot. He used them for years as Christmas stockings at a couple of local bars.

 

Nothing fancy; but lengths of PVC pipe cut at and angle and screwed to the wall make for an easily accessible place for tie wraps.

 

This is really ingenious, I need one!

 

To bad we don't live closer. Even though I am right handed, I wear out the left hand glove at about twice the rate of the right hand one.

 

Funny thing is I eat and write left-handed. I throw and use scissors right-handed. I shoot left-handed and bat right-handed. Go figure. I can't risk losing anymore sight. I had a stroke last year and it took about 40% of my eyesight. I tell folks if you don't like my driving, stay off the sidewalks!

 

People do all sorts of weird things. My father (RIP) did almost everything right handed. Except golf. Did that left handed and pretty well at that.

 

I'm mostly lefthanded but I try to use power tools - especially grinders, drills and saws - righthanded because the lock ****ons are made for righthanders. Lefties have a tendency to grip those ****ons inadvertently and then get torqued out of our grip when they catch on something and keep going when we've tried to let go of the trigger.

 

That’s me! I am right handed, but give me anything with a handle…I grip it left handed! I found out about this in high school base ball! My coach noticed my left hand grip , but I was on the right side of home plate. So he told me to get on the other side! I could bat equally poor on either side! lol

I never could figure out left-handed guitar or fiddle players. You are already doing the hardest part with your left hand. I've never see a left-handed accordion player flip one over and play it upside down & backwards.

 

I used to think that too until I started playing and found fretting is the easy part unless you're just strumming. My two cents is it's all about the picking hand.

 

Whoa,,, I got the split duty hands too.
I find that things I was taught ( like baseball ) are right hand.
Eating and writing lefty, since I taught myself. ( Mom was sick Dad was a drunk )
But if I need a glove I'll just put it on the hand I need regardless.
