Thanks for the question. It's not hours, its months. Also, keep in mind that the door jambs and hood (interior side) along with deck lid are all done in the same scheme.
The cost for a quality low rider paint job is minimum fifty grand up to a hundred grand and sometimes above that number depending on complexity, colors, and so on.
The bodywork Must be pristine before anything is sprayed.

I posted this picture specifically for you so you could see what a true lowrider show quality custom paint job would look like. Check out the door jambs, trunk, and the underbody. This is way past a hundred fifty grand.

IMG_2861.jpeg Absolutely beautiful, looks like a lifetime’s work to me. I have looked at a few in real life, nothing close to this level though. The skill level on most simply amazes me.
These cars remind me of high end watches, I’ll never own one but I sure enjoy examining them.
Thank you for posting @Sky Six

I've judged a few, all you need is a creeper and a dental mirror, and a bottle of aspirin after looking at a 3-volume build book !

I can't even imagine what drugs you would have to take to come up with the design used here. That is incredible!! From what I have seen here in the last few pages I think every Chevy from about '35 to '70 should be turned into a sled. They look fantastic.

  27. This has been a very interesting thread. I admire the work and dedication these cars have in them. I have one question, why does it seem like Low Riders are almost always built on a GM vehicle? Very few Fords or Chrysler products.

Do you know of any shows in the Upper Midwest featuring low riders?

Just find a low rider and ask would be my best guess.:)
