    Hello,

One year, as 20 somethings, my wife and I decided to include our humble activities including family items in a wall hanging as a household Christmas gift to our house. We sat at a table, then realized, it had to go on the floor. The project got started with felt pieces cut up and glued together in various topics that our history covered for that particular year. Everything from the Nutcracker, drag racing, custom motorcycles, to colorful multi-directional flames, surfing winter waves, to one of our favorite things, Paddington Bear.

As we worked on the project, our own history came to life. It was fun talking about the project in pieces as it was a running commentary on our lives as a couple of 20 somethings trying to find our way ahead in the future, but learning about our past.

We laughed and continued to work on the project for several days. Finally, it was ready to hang on a tall bare wall that needed something for art or decoration. The project was low cost, historically correct and colorful to say the least. When our families came over to visit during the holidays, it certainly was a topic of conversation… YRMV
