So I’m just a hobbyist hotrod builder with half dozen plus builds under my belt and a full time trim carpenter. So a guy I’ve done a shitload of carpentry work for has bugged me for years to build him a hotrod. I’ve always said no because I don’t want to make it a job. I enjoy coming home and decompressing down at my shop building my own hot rods and I don’t want to make it a job but today he tells me he has his granddads 46 Chevy pickup. I went and looked at it and holy shit it’s a beautiful patina truck with hardly any body damage. I told him I might be interested in building him a patina hotrod. I don’t want to get into bodywork and paint but I would build a full chassis and a nice interior and leave the patina. Anyway I’ve Always been a Ford guy and don’t know suppliers for 41-48 Chevy pickups. I want to make a list of big ticket items to give this guy a rough estimate on just the parts it would take to get it on the road.

This yellow/white 1942 Chevy pick up truck looks like a custom truck, but there are clues that it is a shop truck, carrying packages and boxes of parts to be shipped across the USA. It is a work truck for light weight parts and boxes. Art Deco Chevrolet 1941-1947. In my opinion the most beautiful truck of all time. They are great. Why does it need a new chassis? Interior????? All they had was a seat and a shifter. Make it roll. Make it stop Make it go. Make it light.
I didn’t say it was getting a new chassis. But I will be adding new suspension and trans crossmember. As far as the interior the guy that wants this truck built wants a nice interior.

They are great for small parts that will fit in a USPS priority mail box as everything that will fit in a certain size box ships for the exact cost that the post office shows for that box no nonsense of added costs. I've got a bunch of small pieces coming for my 48 from them now. I like the Filling Station in Oregon to check and see if a part exists in the aftermarket as they list just about everything.
