Never was into planes but for Xmas when I was about 8 I got a Cox powered '57 chevy drag car. Pound a nail into the street asphalt and another one maybe 100-150 feet away and I believe we used thick fishing line to thread into the ch***is and attach on each nail. Had a little spool on one of the rear tires for the pull rope. I can remember my dad showing me how to start it up and he'd hold the car and let it do a one legged burnout before letting it go. Might have been the greatest Xmas present. Still have it! Looks like this one I found doing a search, same color too.
