I bought this from a friend a few years ago and now ready to install it. First, are all Grant Spaulding distributors of this type "Flamethrowers" Technical info needed: Do they use one or 2 condensers? I sent mine off to be curved and the single condenser is now missing. Most pictures only show one side so I cannot see if there are 2. What is the value (electrically) of the condenser? What Ohm value are the 2 resistors shown in the attached Grant Spaulding manual diagram? They are not listed. Many of the parts used are Ford over the counter so I'm thinking they are Ford resistors. Distributor is painted Ford Blue to match the VC's and its going into a 427 FE. Trying to keep the look as from the early-mid 1960's Movin/on
My recollection is 2 coils, 2 condensers. Mine was on a 401 nailhead. ‘the photo shows nothing I see one on this photo, but nothing visible here though there would logically be one on the opposite side with the second coil.
yup, 2 condensers .400 mfd. each and the resistors need to be 1.5 ohm and used with 1.5 ohm coils (total of 3 ohms)
Moriarity: thanks that's what I thought. Now I can search for the corresponding parts. I'll post some pictures of my other distributors in your thread about collections. Richard >>> Movin/on
I still have 2 Grant flamethrowers. One NOS . I had one hooked up many moons ago . Used 2 coils 2 condensers . I was 20-25 or so , no internet, no instructions, so off the shelf coils and condensers . I think I used a Chrysler ceramic resistor . I didn’t run it long . Long enough to go WOW , it works . And now the sit …
