I've made a lot of Ebay purchases and all went perfect, but I did have one go as bad as it could go early in Dec. last year!
I saw an item I wanted and Buy it now price was fair. I bought it using my Paypal account and got a notice saying I'd made the purchase. Then silence. No tracking number, and no communication from the seller!
As I always do I had seen the seller wasn't new and had 1700 sales, but what I missed, and had never seen before was they also had zero feedback! Nothing good or bad, just the sales number and that's all.
After a week I sent the seller a message requesting a refund, or my product, but no reply. I sent probably 5 messages all unanswered. I finally tried to get Ebay or Paypal to help, but both refused stating the item wasn't late yet. So I had to wait for about 15 days until it was late, and then submit a claim to Ebay for a refund. They responded by simply saying they'd ask the seller to refund payment, and give them 72 hrs. to reply.
The seller must not have replied as Ebay and Paypal refunded my payment and I lost nothing. But I learned a lesson to not just check their percentage of sales and positive feedback, but to also look to see if they have any feedback at all! Not even sure how a seller has 1700 sales, but zero feedback?

It seems the only negative feedback this rascal has, is regarding this questionable deal...
Life is tuff, when you sweat the small stuff.

  3. I have also never left a negative feedback in 20 years of using Ebay. Small stuff? LOL

  4. I sure hope this second jacket offer is legit and not a scam. You don't give any details and certainly aren't required to but if this amazing second (and seemingly VERY coincidental) offer was made on this site by a new member and the payment demand is for Friends & Family .... hmmmm o_O

  5. A friend of mine through the hobby had one without me knowing. He lives in the midwest and I am on the eastcoast . He saw my post and offered it up.

How would that work otherwise? If you could bid without any payment info, what would stop people from bidding on stuff and never paying?

I’ve bought on eBay as a guest? Ie not signing in, just “buy it now” put the card number in.

That does work for a buy it now, the item just isn't considered sold until you make your payment. But you can't bid on an auction as a guest.
