Like Blowby...I stumbled upon a old magazine rack from a old drug store....It holds all my early 50s magazines in chronological order for easy reference. All the magazines from 1955 on, I purchased as a kid. All the ones before that, I've gone back and filled in the issues back to volume 1, issue 1. All my spares are in boxes and my new ones are just stacked in book cases or besides my recliner....

Am I asking for trouble if I keep them in an unheated garage? I plan on having them bagged and boarded or in totes.

The back wall in our walk in closet is nothing but shelves built for my mag collection. They are organized by title and year and are easy to get to. Believe it or not I think it helps us keep the closet more organized................

Not on display really, but organized at least.

This is one wall of the "library". There's another shelf out of the bottom of the frame. The "Hot Rod" collection is complete back to 1961, and spotty after that. Same with R&C. There's a near complete set of Rodder's Journal on the wall the left and the rest of that wall contains a lot of racing and other off-topic mags.

This is most of the "hard cover" collection that's in the living room.

In messy piles… I’ve got a bunch of magazine bins and most are stored in them in the basement, which has no problem with moisture. I keep the humidity down around 30%. There’s some antique stuff there as well, so 2 monster dehumidifiers

I'm late to this show:) I've got Hot Rod back to 1956, Street Rodder (when they had good articles) Rod and Custom and Rod Action and other catalogs, manuals in shelves between two garage doors with a king size sheet to slow down the dirt and dust. I very seldom look at them except when I get a new project. I've got a new project (1962 F100 SWB Uni) but haven't even looked up anything on like cars. I took all of my motorcycle magazines to the VA Hospital in Omaha a few years ago and gave my Corvette magazines to a friend with a Corvette. At 80 I am getting closer to a dirt nap, hope the collection goes to the VA or someone that is a collector. IMG_1322(1).JPG

  19. Since our daughter moved back in with her daughter I lost my mancave or whatever you call it, all my car magazines & automotive books have been unceremoniously stacked in cardboard boxes, "Oh, the humanity" HRP

    An old banana box!?!:p
I sold most all mine to a woman with young kids that were showing interest in hot rods/race cars/street rods/etc.
Nickel apiece I think....... WHY hold on to them when I had memorized the facts in them + I can look at 'carz' at local shows/cruise-ins until they all start looking alike !!
I NEVER regretted (so far) getting rid of them....its been 20+ years ago. Besides...have you seen the modern Hot Rod magazines?! Whata dissapointment
