I'm new here, and I was told I couldn't get into the action without letting you know what rotting lawn ornament I'm hanging on to How's it going all? 'Names Joe, and I'm currently working on a 1960 Chebby Apache 10, with hopes of going somewhat trad/rat with it. Straight 6/235, 3 on the tree, plenty of rust, luckily 80% or so is just surface. I'm going with new front fenders, slip over cab supports, and red oxide (rotted rockers be damned, I don't care to fix 'em). FWIW, it's been local to here all of its 44 years. For any North Jersey folks here, it sat on the farm near Nabisco up until 1989 when it was sold to a guy up the street. I scored her for 400 bucks with a good clean title and 78k original miles. Anyway, enough babbling, here's a shot of my primer experimentation. More DAYTIME pics later.
Welcome enjoy,Those truck had glass beds on them right?? They make sweet custom rides, you gonna leave the 6 in it??
[ QUOTE ] Welcome...lets see more pics [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, how bout a close up... (seems like today is bash the new guy day) Welcome aboard!
1) Nah, the beds were all steel. Mine's got the surface rust and wheel well lip rot in two spots to prove it. No biggie. Sand, 'glass, bondo, sand, primer. You know the drill 2) More pics are coming ASAP. 3) Thanks!
Go Joe! You made it through the first phase, now for chuck chuck! $400 is a good price, you done good.
Thanks guys. Like I said, she needs fenders, cab supports, and technically could use rockers, but I'm just gonna put in the fenders and cab supports for now. Torsion bar front end lowering (about 2") is planned. Keeping the 6 banger and 3 speed cause I'm broke.
