Sorry to hear about the loss of a friend. You will always have him close by when you are working on it or just driving the Caddy around. Glad it found a good home. It will make a kool Mild Kustom.
Very Cool car . You were wanting to build a tow vehicle. Drop a bt6 / 6 speed and a dualie rear axle in it . Think Mad Max lol . Condolences for the loss of your Friend
That car is awesome. Have to agree with the others to do what needs to be done to get it running and functional, clean it up, and drive it. With the cost of acquisition it makes more sense to put a few bucks into it. Sorry for the loss of your buddy. Perhaps the HAMB can get him Member Emeritus status?
I think you should consider using it as a tow rig . A friend of mine’s Dad raised and showed cutting horses in the 60-70’s . He pulled a spread two axle 2 horse trailer with 4 door Chrysler cars . That way the whole family had room and it would move down the highway faster than any pickups at the time .
The motor asnd tranny are in the trunk disassembled, this would be a great candidate for an engine swap.
A big block Mopar would be a great donor for a car like that. Any 383, 400, 413 or 440 would make a mountain of power, at least as much as the Cadillac 390, have readily available parts, and you have the benefit of the 727 behind it. Find some clapped out land yacht and take the whole shebangabang.
I owned that cars twin in the late 80's, but my motor was still up front. 90K, and a black leather interior that was perfect. when you own a 4 door Caddy and it's Saturday night everyone wants you to drive, but nobody wants to help pay for gas.
Somebody I know started a pretty informative thread on those first gen OHV Caddy’s so that should help..
