Those drain plugs seem out'a place against the shiny also. :p

Yeah, that e brake bracket got painted with hammerite. If I had been thinking I would have run it down to chrome troy while I was messing about over the last couple of weeks. Thanks for noticing

    There are non-car people?

They are brass and I did polish them. SS plugs would be nicer. Never done!

Beautiful. In a previous lifetime I painted a 59 Impala model car a similar color. Very elegant!

Boy did you have me studying that shot of your pedals, those pedal seals are intriguing.

I spent some time on those. There are polished stainless steel plates (2 piece) that frame the pedals where they pass through the toe board. I added a couple of rubber stops a few years back as the clutch pedal "slapped" the two board when side stepping or dumping the pedal. I bent the arms tight and had them plated. You can't see the springs that are incorporated in the area between the pedal and the M/C's. They return the pedals forthwith!
I would paint a 60's car the engine color in a heartbeat! It is a bit high tech and busy but for my flathead, it just kinda works. I love building and detailing. It makes me happy.

This damn car almost looks better from underneath than it does on top! I'd be covered with grass stains if I saw it at a show.

Thank you for the compliment. Most people if asked (and I cared to know) would say it is silly to have a car detailed like that underneath but I don't see it any different than any number of guys on here with cars inside the house staying warm and clean. Hot rodding has its nitty gritty side and I provide a yang for its yin. Or is that a yin for its yang? It's very confucius.

When I was having Mitch stripe
the car I noticed one of the rear tires was low. I checked it yesterday…zero psi. I put 25 in it and it was down to 20 today so I pulled out of and ran it up the tire shop where they found a nail in it. Fixable at least. IMG_6895.jpeg
The weather is cold but sunny the next few days. Time to do some shifting.

I wanted to test drive the roadster today but the weather gods (not whether Gods mind you) had different plans. Oh well. Try again tomorrow. In the meantime, I gave the frogs some flakes.

  13. I think you're ready for another project. I have something you've been dreaming of for a while. Like Monty Hall used to say, "come on down"! Show everyone here there is yet another demention to the Bandit. You know you want to do this.

It crosses my mind every now and then buddy. I'd need a Paxton SC and a Y block tho.

  22. Sorry B-B, it's not me or it could be a part of the total package. I have a friend doing a total correct resto on his 57 E code 300. Over the years he like most of us Silver Backs gathered up todays Gold while it was priced a lot better than it is today. He also knows about my "vision" for the "stuff" I have tucked away. A while back he called me wining about today's costs of trying to get his project to the next stage. He specifically named some of his "Hen's Teeth" he would sell if I was interested. I remember him saying 312 parts and Paxton stuff. I've known him many many years and know he's not an internet kind of guy so there's a pretty good chance his "Stuff" is still gathering dust.

I finally got a chance to take the roadster out for a drive today. To quote @Moriarity it was “smooth as a gravy sandwich”. It never rowed through the gears like this before. Down shifts, up shifts, hard under power shifts… money shot!!! What a fun driving car!

A bit on the chilly side but dry.
