I had two of em, a buddy saw em in my garage and talked me outa one of em.. He powder coated it white and detailed the shit outa it, I don't think it's ever had an engine hung off it since... I really like the heavy duty factor but I can't roll it out the back of my garage when I go to paint the engines.

20250111_093841.jpg 20250111_093910.jpg Fired up the Pontiac this morning, sounds great. It helps when you actually have an 8 cylinder reluctor wheel in the distributor:p

Cleaning out the house and garage and moving all parts and valuables that aren't pertinent to my current projects for more room to work in the garage, and that nagging fear that in the event of a fire, my home in the hills of the SF Bay area is not defendable despite my best efforts .

IMG_2895.jpeg IMG_2896.jpeg IMG_2893.jpeg Finished AFB rebuild thank you Jon @carbking for your help and parts. I was going to polish the carb but after 15 or 20 minutes and very little progress I gave up. I’m going to try to marry the Chrysler pie tin air cleaner top to the Elderbrock chrome piece leaving a chrome outer ring. Maybe install a 273 Charger decal?

Unpacked the small base Rochester 4G 4BBL carb off a stick shift '53 Olds. I bring a carburetor or two to Florida when I go down in the winter so when I need a car "fix", I can take one out and rebuild it. I have several vintage dual quad setups for old Oldsmobiles as well as a couple of flathead 4BBL intakes that all take the old "Square" pattern carbs. So far, I have three of these identical Olds carbs, and two matching small base WCFB's. I ended up"specializing" in these so they wouldn't get "lost in the shuffle". I recently acquired a Stromberg "Aeroquad" by accident (the guy thought it was a WCFB); now I have to decide if I want to start dealing with these. Probably not as this one isn't in the best of shape.

At my age, it's about all I can do anymore.

My brother finished inner & outer rockers. Body mount braces & a new wheel well surround for me.
All these parts were made with basic hand tools. Hammer forms & an English wheel. Only pre made panels were the ones you can't see.
It will get bodywork & paint when My wallet quits smoking... I'm very stoked on the work he's done for us.
    Up next I'll handle the 261, T5 & 57 Chevy rear end swap. 20241231_155015.jpg 20250102_143941.jpg 20250108_175654.jpg

  12. You guys all had more fun than I did. I sat at a Harley swap meet all day trying to turn Harley parts into Chevy parts via cash. Around here, motorcycle swap meets aren’t like they used to be. About half as many vendors and small crowds of people.

  15. Trying to do mostly indoor stuff. Still learning upholstery for hobby. Getting all the attachments for my Mom's old Kenmore. Walking foot is in the mail.
But tackled headliner and sunvisors on the F100. It's a work truck so good enough.

and added the chipboard to replacement windlace for the wagon. Changing from 60/70 flange style to the soft tube fabric style.

my goal is to do the Fairlane stock looking door panels.

Try fine line tape next time on the edges then fill in the gaps with masking tape.
