78E2CC1D-BF18-48DF-9ECC-C9794CDFB7C1.jpeg Trying to tap the huge knowledge base here on vintage parts like intake manifolds , valve covers etc from Offenhauser , Fenton , Edelbrock , Sharp , Edmunds , etc. that relate to identification such as part numbers and/or special markings. Maybe this could be a thread that we can all add too , be it questions or answers . First up is there any knowledge out there on markings on my Offy intake .#5190 but it has an "A" stamped in the bottom . Is this an indication an original first run model? Thanks .

Buick 401,425. Don’t know anything about the “A” . Trying to figure out an intake identification myself of an old off flathead intake. I’m not a flathead guy, but would like to know which years it fits.

No idea on the stamped "A", but maybe others with similar era Offy intakes (and possibly with similar stampings) will chime in. No suffix mentioned in the '71 Offy catalog, though:

Any pics, manufacturer, or a part number for the intake you are trying to ID? From same '71 Offy catalog:

Not sure in your case but often alphabetic characters in or near a part number relate the version or revision of the design.
