Featured Event Coverage 75th Grand National Roadster Show - Official Update

Hello friends,

This will serve as the official update on the 75th GNRS. Although we empathize with what is currently happening around Los Angeles , we want you all to know that the show is still going to take place. A small portion of the Fairgrounds has graciously been offered to house Livestock , but none of the car show grounds (including the buildings) are being used to house people. The Fires are 40 miles from the Pomona Fairplex, just to give you an idea.

*New Hours - The GNRS has new show hours for each day. Friday January 31st, 10am - 6pm. Saturday February 1st, 10am - 6pm, and Sunday February 2nd, 10am - 6pm.

*Suede Palace - Everything is still scheduled as planned. Move-In is Thursday January 30th from 12 Noon - to 4pm. My amazing staff consisting of Jim Bouchard, Herb "Doc" Weber, Marky Idzardi and I will be meeting, greeting, and parking cars.

* Entertainment - James Intveld - Nashville recording artist - singer, song writer, and multi talented musician will be performing inside the Suede Palace on Saturday February 1st from 4pm - 5pm.

* Awards - Suede Palace Awards are Saturday February 1st at 5:30 pm.
Main GNRS Awards are Sunday February 2nd inside Building #4 at 4pm.

This is good news. LA needs an injection of "hot rod leadership" right now as they struggle with the effects of other types of leadership and some injection of funds into the economy. Hopefully everyone coming can find a place to stay.

 

Great to hear. Last time to the GNRS was the 75th anniversary of the deuce. I have my plane ticket, car rental and scooter rental. Also a confirmed and guaranteed hotel room. That's my only worry that they may ignore my guarantee for a long term tenant. Motel 6 in San Dimas. Stay there also during the LARS. Nothing fancy, just a bed. Thanks for the update.

 

Thank you for sharing this update. I can only imagine how many things need to be dealt with for a show this size under normal circumstances, let alone something like this week.
I hope everyone has a great time and that all try to be understanding to residents, staff and others.

As part of Alex’s amazing staff, I’d like to add that this years 75th Anniversary show is going to be spectacular.

There are going to be lots of amazing cars this year, the entry’s are mind blowing. We have the ultra talented James Intveld performing on Saturday night and the fiesta village will not disappoint.

This is my favorite show of the year and I want to see all of my friends there

No first year. It sounds like vendors were finding the days pretty long. Having worked a number of 10 hr day tradeshow I know how they feel.

 

What is the fiesta village? sorry 1st timer here

 

If you are walking in from across the street, the first place you will enter is a little outside Mexican type village with the buildings painted up like it.

 

I've been told the NHRA Museum is a good place to park and enter the show. Is this true?

 

I'm looking forward to returning after missing last year. I'll have videos up on my YT channel of what I see, if I have decent internet they'll go up each night of the trip. I'll post the videos in a thread here as well.
