Technical Anyone install a Ford FE engine in a 35-40 Ford ?

  1. To solve the clearance problem with the pan, you can use the truck rear sump pan and the matching oil pickup. I have modified a few FEs that way. Go for it, I like FEs.

  2. Those rear sump 4x4 pans and pickup tubes can be a bit tricky to come by these days.

In my case, very well. I finally got the car on the road in the spring of '22, have enjoyed many miles and look forward to many more!

The one item no one has addressed is the center of the X-member. It will have to be opened up for the C-6.
We do have a kit for that.

If I do one, it will be a Tremec TKX 5 speed. But, you are correct sir. The X member is always in the way.

You should post up some pics of your install. Motor mounts, headers, etc.

Problem is most I have show the "off topic" IFS, and I don't want to "poke the bear" anymore than I've already done. I'll try and come up with some "clean" pics. Thanks for asking.

You can post them in the OT section and start a new thread.
