Not sure if this has been asked before, but for Lokar column shifter linkage, Ford C4, does the NSS get removed from the transmission? All the pics show it without the NSS, and there is nothing about it in the instructions.

Does the new shifter have it's own NSS? If not then you might want to leave one on the transmission. If it does, then you can take it off.

oh...I read the directions. Step one includes removing the NSS. Step 12 includes cutting off the arm from the selector lever, and installing the replacement arm over the part of the shaft that the NSS original fit over, I think.

  3. Maybe one of Lokar's neutral switches that mount on the pan rail and have a trigger on the shift shaft would work.

Ron Francis has a kit that uses normally column mounted switch on a bracket off the pan rail.

    Looks easy to duplicate.

As another do-it-yourself alternative: you could hook a rod to the shift arm to link to an old Chevy van neutral switch.

This reminds me that I have to make a mount for a NSS on an old B&M shifter. I hate aftermarket shifters that have a switch that only works in park.
