We often times ask where the cars are today & perhaps, we should be asking where the ladies are today !
Great view of the McGee roadster's custom 1-piece trunk lid taillight panel combo. And white headers!
He had great taste in cars. Cool to see the bit of evolution in the roadster from the 1964 movie. It had Ford steelies with beanie caps then, compared to the polished/chromed slots in 1969.
Do you know the title of the 1964 movie? I know it was in Hot Rod Gang in the late 50's. I'm guessing the film/TV creds of this car are a mile long.
Another tidbit about this video, I spied in the garage next to the roadster what looked like an early Corvair. I saw in another thread about Dick that he built a front engined Corvair with a 283 he pulled from the roadster! The article was from 1971 so it has to be the same one. Also, he looks to have had a miraculous amount of hair growth from the video to this picture...
It had it all, that roadster also had "that one thing" and it was that extended trunk lid. I don't recall ever seeing another car with one. Those that claim single Holleys' on tunnel rams don't work together need to see this one.
