I am installing a 4” dropped axle. It is the stock axle that was under the car. I sent it to Anson Axle and he did a great job. Trouble is I can’t seem to bend my steering arm in such a way that keeps the steering rod from hitting the steering arm. I fabed a bracket to hold the brake acutator. Any help is appreciated.

Can you get some pics ? It would be about the only way to "see" your problems and give you a somewhat accurate advice and fix..

It sounds like you are running the mechanical brakes.
If that's the case, do yourself a favor and switch to 32 / 34
spindles & brakes. they are better brakes & the spindle arms
are better for re-shaping for your dropped axle.

I think I have the steering figured out. I am putting the wishbone on the axle and find when I slide one side of the wishbone on the axle to insert the perch pin the other side of the wishbone is off by a couple feet. Looks like I have to heat and twist the wishbone to get it to fit. Where is the best location on the wishbone to heat in this situation?

I’ve dropped a couple model As with mechanical brakes. Tie rod above the wishbone, drag link in stock location. This car pictures is lowered with a 33 axle. This is 1.5 lower than stock. If your axle is a 4” model A axle I believe that makes it 1.75” lower than stock. So basically this is very similar to your setup but I used 32-34 perch pins. If you could start over I would suggest you just swap the model a stuff to 32-34 stuff. Basically the same drop and almost bolt together. But what you’re doing is fine. Good luck. IMG_3343.png

Are you using a stock model A wishbone?
What dropped axle are you using?
You could be creating more problems by using the wrong combination of parts.

I went through this on the Model A I'm working on and finally came to the conclusion that I wasn't able to make the left steering arm clear everything no matter how I bent it. The 32-34 spindles and steering arms will work so that's the way to go.
