An act of god, but 200 years of dealing with sana Anna winds they should know how minimize the affects. From afar it looks like they could have been more prepared Losing old cars is bad but pales compared to human life lost.

Saw a news clip the other day of a bullet nose Studebaker under what appeared to be a hastily erected makeshift tarp canopy & it appeared to be a safe haven, while everything around was ash with the exception of a garage in the background. With the winds & embers in varied sizes (some like briquets) I'm amazed it remained unscathed.

  3. I am dropping off a Nash Metropolitan in
North Hollywood, CA at Metropolitan Pit Stop tomorrow.

One of their customers managed to get
their Metropolitan out of the garage and
parked it on the street before mandatory
evacuation - their house did not survive
the fire - but the Metropolitan was untouched.

Stark contrast in a landscape of heartbreak.
