  3. I do not think there was a DOT back when Ford was making tires.

If that date code is the same system used today then it looks like they were made the first week of 1949

No date codes in 1949 either. I think post 2000 date codes are 4 digits. Pre 2000 date codes are 3 digits. Those would be the 49th week of 1981 or 1991 (or the 14th week of 1979, 1989, or 1999 - I forget the exact format).

    Obviously reproductions of some sort.

I have an original Ford tire which is the original spare in my '40 Std Tudor. Dad bought the car in early 1965 with 42,000 miles. Has 75,000 now.

Here's an original I got in a pile of junk. I thought it was pretty special, only one I've ever seen in a lifetime of digging thru junk piles, but at my auction folks weren't too excited, sold for about 10 bucks IIRC. 81646CB5-53B6-44BE-ACDB-A5E60BF9FCEF.jpeg 81646CB5-53B6-44BE-ACDB-A5E60BF9FCEF.jpeg F2EF2075-2482-427E-8BA1-BF27E52DB3D5.jpeg

  11. Even though reproductions, they are still cool.

I’ve got some original air that was in a Ford tire, but the tire was too bad to use. I’m looking for a good tire to put my original air back into.
