The rear panel looks decent in the pics, but like the rest of the car, it was bondo and booger welds.





This is the inside panel. I fixed it, but didn't take any pictures, you are gonna have to just trust me.



Once all the crap was off it wasn't too terrible.



Holy shit, it fits.



1/4 ends are boogered.



All better.



Drivers side definitely has been the easy side of the car.



And, there you go. Both quarter tails ready for final metal work.

I used to get my panels from Howell in Texas, but I am not sure they are even in business anymore. On the last few cars, I have used Steve's Auto Restoration or CW Moss. I have noticed that no matter who I get the panels from, they all have exactly the same writing on them. Not sure what that means....

Love watching your progress. Some talk of an L.S.? My son loves his LS's Runs a 427 LS in his 49 Ford coupe [twin turbos] with a 6 speed. Not done yet. He built another one for his ZO6 and said I could have the original motor if I ever went over to the "dark side". Tempting

 

Amazing turnaround Flamed...So many of you Hambers make it look easy...but its a joy to witness the many times rapid transformations...

 

LS will never happen, that was just a buddy of mine pulling my chain. As for what is going under the hood of this one, I can only say it won't be all that unusual....

For a 90 year old car it looks fairly solid once you repair past sin's,love to see the rest of the body once the paint is removed hopefully that was the worst of your troubles.
