351 Steet Hemis produced in '71. The ''last blast'' before they were gone. ^ That's a rare bird. Brown interior...
There’s a cool video on YouTube about this bird on the salt, I’ll look around and see if I can find it and post it. Here it is!
This is the color I call "Mopar Green." My home town is about 45 miles from the Chrysler Belividere assembly plant. This was the home building ground for a lot of the Mopar "B" body cars in the late 60s and early 70s, US 20 went right between the plant and storage lot where the cars shipped out of. My dad ran a business and often made the trip to Belividere to pick up supplies for his business. To put it into proper perspective, I graduated high school in 74, so I was often recruited to assist dad in picking the stuff he needed, we made the trip probably once a month during most of that time frame. On any given day, when we made a trip to Belividere, we passed by that storage lot, and from the highway you could see what looked like thousands of B body cars (and an assortment of other Mopar cars and trucks) waiting to be shipped out to dealerships. In my memory, it sure seemed like there was always an abundance of those (Mopar Green) dark metallic green cars sitting on that lot waiting to be shipped. It also seemed like a huge number of those Mopar Green cars stayed in our local area. For several years that dark metallic green was the color you got when you bought a used Mopar. It took quit an effort to buy a used Mopar that was not dark metallic green, and I did my best to accomplish that. Had the color not seemed to be so prevalent, I may have liked it more back then. I don't seam to mind seeing it these days, but the color always brings back those memories.
One of my favorite Mopar colors. My cousin has a 69 383 4 speed Road Runner that color with white interior. Absolutely beautiful car.
My ‘71 Road Runner was that color with a dark green interior. I love that color. Another one I shoulda kept.
