OK Fella's, this may not be a 32 Ford hi-boy, but couldn't resist posting some pics of this amazing car. Was at the Winter Park, FLorida Concours on Sunday. Anyone know anything about it? Those shot-gun pipes are *****in and would be way cool on a stripped down Hot-Rod. Comments/opinions?? JT
That is the David Uhlien Special, he designed it and built it from a MG-TD he bought new,and still owns it. It has a twin can head he designed. I had a copy of Speed Age that you have a photo of, has a detailed feature on the car. He has a world cl*** collection of race cars, and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
Thanks for the reply.Thought I knew allot about weird sports cars, until I start walking around a show with Nads. Although in this instance, he had never seen it. Tha magazine was laying on the front seat, wish I had talked to the owner. Never seems to be enough time to take cool pictures, hang out with freinds and look at each car in detail. A great way to learn about post-war sports cars is to read B.S. Levy's "The Last Open Road". Buddy Palumbo works at Finzio's Sinclair gas station in Posaic N.J. and comes of age wrenching on neighborhood MG's, XK120's, and other European oddities. A must for all bookworm gearheads. www.lastopenroad.com JT
That car was amazing, the exhaust pipes were just gorgeous. So it's still MG powered? The concours was great but why in the world would they invite a Citroen 2CV?
