First off, I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask. I'm tired of tripping over my corded trouble lights and having the light always rotated to the wrong place by the cord. I'm seeking recommendations for a rechargeable cordless LED work light that will hold up in the shop. Thanks.

I have had mine about 6 years maybe longer. Yes after a few years the battery can last longer but it stays on about 2-3 hours at least after so many years.
Dont get a cheap Harbor Freight one, get the real deal. you know what they say cheap is cheap.

Look up where Schumacher electric is from. A Texas company. Consider that

I have a few different cordless lights from Harbor Freight. They all seem to work good.
My favorite type have a magnetic base and bend in the middle. The magnets are pretty strong. I was working on a van, had it stuck to the transmission pan. Took it for a 10 mile test ride. Stopped to put gas in the van. The guy asks me if I was just working under it. The light was on and still hanging on the van.

Screenshot_20250121_141820_Amazon Shopping.jpg Not cheap, but I've had good luck with these "Cyclops" lights. Strong magnet, bright light, compact, good battery life.
I keep a couple so if one dies I have another charged up ready to rock.

I use Milwaukee work lights. Use the same battery pack as the power tools.

That’s the one I use. It takes 18650 cells so if you have a charger for them, you can keep swapping charged batteries, or of course use the onboard charger

  9. I've bought several similar to this one. Has a magnetic base as well as a hook for hanging. Rechargeable. We use them around the house constantly, have three ready to go at all times. We literally have no other flashlights around as these just can't be beat. Super bright and no batteries to worry about.

I bought one of these new lights from Eastwood on a better sale price before Christmas and it will put out some serous light.
Lately I have been using one of those strap on your head lights from Vevor that puts out decent light for chores and working on the car including a side of the road after dark repair one night. Screenshot (1938).png

Harbor Freight has stepped up their game in the last 10 years. The stuff like these led lights are pretty good.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned those headlight things that you strap to your forehead. I keep thinking that I should get one of those but still haven't yet. That would point the light where you are looking.

I kinda did...but you had to actually click the link in my post, to the other hamb thread, to see it. Sorry for not being clearer.

This is the one I got on ebay, works pretty well if you ignore all the "features". And the band light seems to work the best, since it's not directional, you don't have to point your head in a certain direction to see. First click of the "on" button makes the band light turn on full brightness. It's good for working on stuff that's one to three feet away from you.

  19. I have one like the Harbor Freight one, only branded for similar store here in Canada. Nice and bright, and versatile, but I find that it doesn't last as long a I expected. I use it in bright mode mostly.
Have several types of rechargeable LED ones, nice to use though, as they are light, and fairly quick to charge.
