The worst is when something like this is not a standard size that can be bought at a hardware store if you just want a serviceable, although “incorrect” solution. Then you get to pick between overpaying for something like this or spending 3 days of your life getting creative coming up with an alternative solution that may or may not work as well.
Have you guys noticed that most new rubber products are garbage? They seem to crack and deteriorate rapidly.
when building my wife 64 f100 bought a rubber floor mat maybe from NPD. when I got it out of the box after a few years it was already cracked decided to go with carpet
Automotive rubber parts should be made from first grade natural or synthetic (neoprene) rubber. That is rubber with no recycled materials. Aftermarket parts are often made from recycled rubber that does not have the same properties, more like a plastic type material. It quickly deteriorates in an outdoor environment An obvious sign is a strong chemical smell as recycled rubber sometimes uses pine tar to reduce the rubber to a mould able liquid.
Yes, the prices are all over the place. Not looking buy. Just surfing the net to see exactly how this grommet looks is all. I’ll be shaping the generic grommet that’s already there so the plug will fit within it.
American Autowire $18.00 ? https://americanautowire.com/collections/chevrolet/products/grommet-pass-thru-4-way-500546 Doesn't surprise me that Eckler's is $$$$
This is the truth. I was up north for work and needed a 24vdc power supply. It turns out “Silicon Valley” is anything but. Ridiculous!
I got through the Holley clearance site regularly. Got some early Chevy truck sets for about 4 bucks each. Might work, might not
I really don't have time to bother posting a reply about people that park with their hood open. How are their hood gaps?
Pretty damn good. Considering the retaining of the harness plug was the last thing I spent any fusing on.
