This Car is complete.. only needs a carburetor and battery. When I bought it, it had run before the carburetor was removed. There is rust on the front passenger floor area. Comes with all trim, and extra rims. Does not currently run.

The written ad for the '59 El Camino definitely sounds ChatGPT written.

Arrrggggg! Responded to a marketplace ad, pile of car parts for $100. Made arrangements to meet this morning at a fenced off shop and the guys a no show and like an idiot I didn’t get his phone number.
4 hours of my day wasted, 3 hours of driving and one hopefully waiting for someone to show up. The guy turned into a ghost.
Pictured is what appears to be a fulton 800 visor, maybe 56 olds headlight rings and an appleton spotlight peeking out plus he said a bunch of other items not pictured.

1954 Chevy 3100 pick up, all original. Has a Thriftmaster 235 engine inline v6 with 3 on the tree column shift. It is a 3 window truck.

Body is solid with very minimal rust. Small dent on rear driver side fender. I have all the door handles for inside and as well as the door panels. There are some parts and pieces that will have to be worked on but for a 70 year old all original Washington truck, it is very solid. Original bed wood was rotted I tore it out while prepping for body work and paint. Truck is running just needs some tlc and breaks are working.

I started prepping to remove the paint for body work but I picked up another project. I don’t have time for this right now. Flexible on price just make an offer.

Serious buyers only no tire kickers or low ballers will not be entertained. No soliciting, I don’t need help selling vehicle.

  18. I buy a lot of stuff used and I am always looking for a bargain, I guess that isn't news as everybody that's in this hobby probably does that but I've had people ghost me so many times after they're the ones that determined the price and we agree for a time to pick something up or to meet up and they just flake or disappear.
I've had people to say they are going to show up to my house I give them my address and I'm sitting around waiting for them for hours and they never show up.
I am just old enough to remember the era where you would buy the recycler or the newspaper and comb the classified ads and back then because it was a more personal transaction it seems like there wasn't a lot of flakes The internet is definitely made a lot of flaky people.
They don't have courtesy to call and say hey I'm not going to be able to make it or say something like I've got second thoughts I don't think I'm going to sell it at the price we agreed on instead they just disappear.

Buyers flake because they sleep on it and/or do some cross shopping they realize they're actually paying market rate and say screw it. It wasn't so easy to call sellers on their BS back in the day of paper classifieds since nobody was gonna subscribe to and comb through every paper for every adjacent county in order to stay on top of pricing info.

I don't sell things to make money though. I sell them to make them leave my garage destined for somewhere other than the recycler. While sometimes it takes forever for anyone to be interested in what I'm selling once they are interested I don't really have problems with no-shows because the prices I ask are objectively good.

Good buyers do that before they call someone and agree to buy something and set up a time to come. And even if they don't, that's no excuse not to let someone know you're no longer planning to come.

It is a sign of character or lack thereof, it was the old way of doing business when a man's word was his bond!

it runs in streaks for me but I tend to sell online quite a bit and seeing we have spring coming around the corner and very little snow forecast for the rest of the season I am starting to list items again. I make most people come to me instead of meeting them. this way i can still be doing something. I might have been planning in working in the back forty but if I have someone showing up I can do something in the shop or around it, I have enough stuff to work on. so if they turn out to be a no show, I didn't waste time watching tv waiting for them. they tend to pay your price too if they come to you especially me being in the country. seems when they want to meet you someplace they tend to want to haggle your price down otherwise you wasted the trip for nothing or worse yet, no show completely.

there are a few exceptions seeing I am so far out. I did give in to a guy a few years ago when I talked to him I could tell he had health problems/asthma. it was a hot day and wanted to know if I could deliver new in box air conditioner to him, he was housebound and his quit working so I did and just did other things in the city that day that I was planning on later in the week. so there are a few exceptions but most times I have them come to me so I can still be doing something constructive.

  28. I always sell stuff below retail because I want to move it people are just flaky, I buy and sell a ton of crap here in So Cal, It has gotten worse in the last 10 or 15 years with the rise of smartphones in the internet. It is rare to have an actual conversation with somebody over the phone even though I always put my phone number in my ads everyone always chooses to text I think it makes it easier to be flaky.
