Robert Joseph Siok, age 82, of Shelton, p***ed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Carol Gabriele Siok. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Helen Kaczmarczyk Siok. ob was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Enlisting around 1960, he spent most of his service aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), where he demonstrated steadfast dedication and loyalty to his shipmates and country. After his military service, Bob began a long career as a plumber and steam fitter. He worked for Bryant Electric for many years, where he and his coworkers became like a second family until the company left Bridgeport in 1988. He then joined the City of Norwalk Board of Education, where he was responsible for maintaining the plumbing in all the public schools in the city until his retirement. Bob also had a deep commitment to his community. In the 1970s, he was elected to Stratford’s Town Committee representing the Second District. He served as an alternate on the town's Planning and Zoning Board and was nominated for Justice of the Peace in 1972. Always fond of his very first car, a white 1957 Oldsmobile 98, Bob located a similar model in 1983 and began attending Cruise Nights and car shows, where he connected with other cl***ic car enthusiasts. He became a founding member of the Cl***ic Nights Car Club based in Monroe, a p***ion that brought him much joy and camaraderie. Bob’s greatest joy in life, however, was his family, whom he loved more than anything. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love knew no bounds. Becoming a grandfather was one of his proudest roles, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply laughing together, Bob’s adoration for them was evident in everything he did. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he delighted in celebrating their accomplishments and creating treasured memories. Bob was deeply loved by all who knew him, not just for his warm smile and kind spirit, but for his remarkable ability to connect with people. He had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was a heartfelt conversation, a shared laugh, or a simple gesture of kindness, Bob touched the hearts of everyone he met. His genuine care for others left lasting bonds and unforgettable memories. In addition to his devoted wife, Carol, Bob is survived by his children, Deena Lawson (Donnie) and Danielle Berardi (Lee); his stepmother Dolores Siok, his brother, Joseph Siok (Diane); his beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Gilbey) Mericnyak and her husband Connor, Vincent Backert, Alicia Berardi, and Anthony Berardi; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Blaise “Whitey” Siok. Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 4-7 pm in the Commerce Hill Radozycki Funeral Home 4798 Main St Bridgeport, A M*** of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 11 am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski St Bridgeport, followed by interment at Huntington Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Bob was a great friend and all around good guy. I met Bob in Nov. 1984 when I joined the Cl***ic Nights Car Club. It was a family orientated family club that he helped start and form. The club gas has existed for over 30 years which is a testament to his dream. I will always remember Bob and our trips to cruises and car shows in many different states. Also his appe***e for good food. on these trips. Especially when we stopped at a NJ Diner and he ordered a Belgium Waffle for desert after a full day at Lead East.. Bob will be sadly be missed.
