Removed the torque tube, rear end & all hangers, looking for a simple way to install a trifive rear end. Posting pic's and suppliers is a plus. Thanks!

The stock springs work fine for most applications. Not high horsepower engines. They used to make spring perches that had holes in them to move the rear forward to center it in the wheel wells. Lowering blocks to drop it down a bit.
    That is the simple way.

55-64 Rear ends are a bolt in on top of the original leaves. You can have new leaves built if you need them. Mine were broken. The later years went to coils, but the housings are the same, just cut off the coil spring pads.

Again, It's wiped clean of any rear suspension parts, no springs, no shocks, no brackets, no hangers, NO NOTHING! I have a complete '57 Chevy rear end that will be installed. Just looking for info, pic's, supplier's that cater to this year & model. Not doing big weeny's out back and Triangular 4 bar & coils is 4th-5th choice. Was hoping someone made hangers/mounts that would bolt to bottom of frame or side of frame.

man, too bad you cleaned everything off. tri five rear is a bolt in on the stock leaf springs with only a 1.5' movement of the ctr bolt alignment hole required

I think I would put the spring mounts back on the frame and put some Posies springs on it and bolt the rearend in. Surely you could find the mounts off another salvage car. I don’t have any pics, but that’s basically what I did to my 52 I had several years ago.

If you can't find those parts, get some s-10 springs and fab some brackets and hangers.
it appears somebody made an easy project hard for you.

I triple the Posies springs.. If you could reinstall the original shackle mounts, Posies makes springs that would bolt right up with the correct centering of the tires.

Man, I dunno what to tell you. If you’re looking for a 4 bar coil over system, then you might as well go with an 8.8 since you will have to weld it all up anyway.

The 55-62 rear is pretty weak, but does ok for a daily if you aren’t beating on it. Plus the axle bearings were about $100 ea, the last time I bought them.
