I’m looking for 1949 Ford two door interior door panels some of them “door cards”. Years ago, I bought a universal kit that was ABS plastic and drilled my own holes. I wish I could find a generic set like that. I can just go buy a sheet of FRP plastic, but of course a pre-cut set is the easiest,

Builder supply ,like HomeDepot have 4x8 n other sizes, sheets of 1/8 inch plywood { Door skins* for house doors, that works pretty good to make your own. Same places have plastic/fiberglass bathroom wall coving [ its about 3/16th or less an water proof ] and work pretty well too.

I'm doing the door panels on the Checker right now, 1/8" masonite is what they had, and what they're getting to replace the originals. 4x8 sheet is less than $20

I bought a universal kit from Speedway. It cost more than I wanted to pay, but it comes with the clips. I’ve done this before and attaching generic panels to the door can be a hassle.

I attached mine with velcro and a screw in each lower corner. Holds great and easy to remove.

Mine's indoor/outdoor boat & deck carpet from the HomeDepot. Affixed to bare metal with glue/double-sided carpet tape. No panels.

I used the Velcro on my 57 Chevy and that made the door panel stick out too far from my liking.

I found sheets of thin ABS plastic on the bay, $150.

  13. If you want to mount like the originals style. Buy a circle die set and punch holes in the door cardboard and use
Auveco 11863 Door Trim Panel Fastener Clip for Ford 383033-S101 (Qty:50)

First make a paper template and note where the holes are or make new holes. And I believe you have to offset the hole so the clip center is at the hole.

I don't believe the Velcro holds good enough in some cases.

Sureply which is available at Lowe’s again now is pretty nifty stuff for this type of thing. It’s a 3 ply exterior grade underlayment thats 1/4”. Pretty flexible if you need it to.

Made lots of panels out of 1/8 Luan Mahogany waterproof plywood.

  16. Stick a clear piece of plastic sheet over the inside of the door, mark out edges and holes, transfer to your sheet and away you go.

Dang it, I don’t know why the 50 would be different than the 49. I think I’ll send that generic kit back and buy these. The hardest part has to be locating those holes. Thanks.

I have used Sintra, a PVC sheet material. It's shapeable using a heat gun and glueable using superglue. Also waterproof. I used 1/8" and got a 4x8 sheet from a local sign shop. Not cheap, but I did an entire Model A cab with one sheet including the interior rear corners where it transitions from curved at the top to 90 degrees lower down.
