VINTAGE SHOTS FROM DAYS GONE BY! (Part 2)

Looks like some school event, I remember riding in those buses and pulling the overhead cord to get the bus to stop at your destination.

They look like Schwinn Truck bikes but what are the tube stands in front of the bikes. Are they baskets of some sort?

 

This shot made me think of the Tony Joe White song "Polk Salad Annie" kinda based on his growing up in the swamps. Song has as the line "Polk salad Annie, gators got your granny chomp chomp".

 

I think the song was used in the Ford vs Ferrari movie...

I think you're right. I remember they used Link Wray and the Sonics. Gonna have to watch that again.

Love the clearance light on the roof! My guess is he had a switch he turned on with to tell his pit crew he was coming in. Chains on the belts work for me on his 50’s Olds.
