    Hey Folks,

Maybe sounds simple enough to figure out, but curious if anyone has a copy of the install instructions for the Offenhauser 0307 Transmission adapter. I have a 1968 SBC 307 I plan to put into a 1929 Coupe and will back it up with either a 39 or 40's ford transmission. I have the Offenhauser 0307 adapter, but my question is more about which other components I need (maybe the instructions dont provide this info)

I assume the flywheel and pressure plate should be SBC and throw out bearing/collar should be early Ford
Do I use a early ford Clutch?
Do I use a SBC pilot bushing?

    Thanks!

I believe that a '49-'50 Mercury (not Ford) pressure plate bolts to the SBC flywheel.

That is the way it was usually done. However, the word on the street is that they are no longer available on the "normal" aftermarket and can only be obtained from specialty sources. I have heard that Speedway Motors and CenterForce are possibilities. Given the nature of Ford transmissions of that era, I believe the Ford throwout bearing is used.

Fort Wayne Clutch is not what they used to be. I found a core that I could return to them for $25 when cleaning my shop a couple of years ago. I called them and asked if it was still returnable. The guy I talked to said not to send it in because they were only handling new products these days. Out of curiosity, I asked him where they were currently getting their clutches, and he answered "Oh, some guy named Wang Fu.". He didn't seem to be happy about it either. The core was for a '49-'53 Ford. I have heard there is an outfit called Kentucky Clutch that is pretty good.
